One great thing about all the snow we had in March is that it made a gorgeous backdrop for these winter maternity photos! This adventurous family was not afraid of the snow or chilly weather at all, and their daughter was such a champ and so well behaved.

We planned their session at one of my favorite parks in Bergen County, NJ and chose two locations within the park itself: One inside a forest of trees with a snow covered ground for that classic winter feel, and another near some evergreen trees, which we always incorporate into their family sessions. (I’ll tell the story below!)

They chose a gray, blue, and white color palette for their outfits, which looked so beautiful with the outdoors winter colors and contrasted nicely with the warm setting sun.

Take a peek at their photos, and enjoy all the wintery-goodness!

I love that big glittery bow!

Almost three years ago when I did this families first maternity session, a couple months before this adorable girl was born, there was a photo of dad kneeling down and kissing moms baby bump with a pine tree in the background. It was one of the favorites from that session and ever since then we’ve incorporated pine trees into each of their family sessions. We did one last fall, and now again for this maternity session. I can’t wait to do another with their family of four!

This family is excited to welcome their second child this month, a little boy! And I’m so excited to meet him!
