Cierra + Nic
These two have some BIG NEWS to share with the world this week + I feel so honored to have been the one to create the photographs for their social media announcement!!
There are so many positive changes happening in their lives and we did a portrait session to celebrate them all! Not only have these two just *officially* moved to New Jersey, but they’re recently engaged (in the most romantic way possible!) and announcing that they’re going to have a baby boy in November!
SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!!!
Cierra contacted me a few weeks ago and over the phone we talked about all the great things happening in her life and she expressed her desire for a beautiful field of tall grasses to create a baby announcement session in so that she could share their big news with photographs. I knew just the right place, a secret spot in a park in Lawrenceville, NJ, and couldn’t agree more that photos are always the best way to share big news!
In the meantime, Nic was planning his own surprise – a proposal! Just two days before our portrait session Nic popped the question in Philadelphia near the art museum in front of her family who had travelled from far away to be there for the big moment. Of course she said yes!
We ended up picking the most gorgeous day for our portrait session, with warm weather and a beautiful sunny sky before sunset. They brought their dog, Daisy, along for the session and coordinated outfits in blues, whites, and tans – such a great combination that matched the feeling of our location perfectly.
Daisy was so well behaved and so much fun to photograph! I love when my families bring their dogs to sessions!

Once the sun started to set and turn orange we moved to the field to capture it more head on, the way Cierra had envisioned. Doesn’t Daisy look so gorgeous in that setting sun?!
The engagement ring that Nic picked out for Cierra is to die for. IT’S SOOOO GORGEOUS!
As the sun was setting we took one last photo – a silhouette.
