Our relationships with our family and friends are the most important ones we can cultivate in this life. Every time I get to use my photography talents to photograph a family member I feel so honored, and instantly closer to them afterwards. We get to share intimate moments and create lasting heirlooms together. These photographs of my cousin Krystal during her first pregnancy are just like that, and remind me of the special time I photographed my sister-in-laws pregnancy, too. It also reminded me of our childhood we would do photo shoots together both when I was in college for photography, and when she took photo classes in college! I remember escaping our family home with her early one Thanksgiving morning with dresses on and a large format camera to go take photos by a waterfall!

This maternity session felt like that – a little escape into the lush landscape at Cross Estate Gardens. The ferns were so tall, the trees so large, the flowers and fields so beautiful. It was the perfect location for her maternity session. She wore a beautiful flowy teal dress that popped with all of the warm colors of the flowers and meadow.

Here are the highlights from our maternity photo shoot:

Her *perfect* baby boy was born shortly after this photo shoot and our whole extended family is so happy about the new addition!
