Spring is here, and it’s the most beautiful time of year!
Spring means warmer weather and longer days for hiking trips and outdoor activities, getting the garden started, playing on the playground, reading a book in a hammock, and soaking up the sun! The trees are blooming, grass is greening, we’re coming out of our winter cocoon and feeling more energized with each passing day. Memorial Day is around the corner and we’re all getting excited for the summer months ahead.
It’s also an amazing time to have your family portraits taken! (maybe even the BEST time.)

The sun sets later, meaning there is more time for portrait sessions!
With the sun setting closer to 8:00pm in April and May, we can get our portrait sessions started around 6pm for that ideal, golden hour light! This opens up availability to work together during the week too, which is important with everyone’s busy schedules!
When should you book your spring family portrait session?
You should book your session as early as possible because availability during the spring is very limited. At least 3 months in advance is suggested.
In the decade years I’ve been photographing families in Northern and Central NJ I’ve found that the best time to schedule a spring session is Mid-April for Cherry blossoms and the beginning of May for Azaleas and flowers. June provides lush greens!
