Janine planned an amazing surprise party for her moms 75th birthday and I can’t wait to tell you all about it! There were a few worries from the beginning that her mom would find out about the party ahead of time, but I can assure you she was utterly surprised!
I got in touch with Janine to document this party through her event planner, a good friend of mine, Jeanne of BWE Events who I’ve worked with numerous times. Together, Janine and Jeanne picked the perfect details to decorate the room with. And if I can be honest… When I turn 75 I’d like my party to look EXACTLY like this! The theme was “75 Years Loved” and they chose to use tons of photos spanning her life as a teacher, principal, wife, mother, and grandmother to show how much she’s touched the lives of everyone she’s known. There were beautiful flowers on every table. The room was bright and inviting, filled with family and friends.
As friends and family gathered to celebrate Kathleen’s surprise 75th birthday, everyone enjoyed looking at the artifacts from her life, the photos, her baby book, and the centerpieces. There were many warm embraces and some excitement in the air anticipating the big surprise!
When Kathleen arrived it was clear she was very surprised!
She was immediately greeted by her daughter who threw the party for her, and was so excited to see so many of her family members and old friends from school districts she’s taught in.
The party itself was a very enjoyable luncheon at Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, NJ. They did a fantastic job taking care of the guests all afternoon.
Half way through the luncheon, Janine gave a heartfelt speech that included some excerpts & facts from her moms baby book. There were lots of laughs and a few happy tears. It was a beautiful speech honoring her mom and the legacy she’s created over the last 75 years!
We ended the afternoon with some family photos and a peek at the beautiful birthday cake.
