In honor of New Jersey FINALLY getting cold and even having its first snow fall this past weekend, I am presenting a glimpse at some macro photography that I have done, that has got my head spinning, my eye inspired and my mind brainstorming for a new conceptual series, that oddly enough, does not include snowflakes at all. The snowflakes that I photographed over the weekend will be the inspirational basis for a layered series to be intoroduced in the coming months.

For now: I have snowflakes. I am somewhat happy with their outcome, (in the fact that my idea actually worked, that the images are intriguing and interesting) but they need a lot of work. I have realized my mistakes and am looking forward to photographing snowflakes again next weekend, weather permitting, with insight, to improve them.

Update 3/8/2012: NJ never got another snow fall or even freezing temperature so I was never able to recreate these photographs & improve them. Don’t worry – expect more snowflake photography next winter! 😉

Enjoy!
