Old Home Day has been a tradition for many years in Rupert, Vt. Residents and tourists gather for a weekend full of Fishing Derbies, Fireworks, delicious chicken BBQ, the Fireman’s Parade, Corn Bingo (MY FAVE!), Local Music and a carnival with rides, games and food stands serving up some of Vermonts best…

My father, his siblings, cousins, aunt’s uncle’s and grandparents have been attending it for years… and now the next two generations are attending as well! Here’s some proof – My Aunt and Uncle at Old Home Days in 1978!

The last Old Home day I attended was in 1998. This years was very similar, but different in a BIG way. It is Rupert’s 250th Birthday so they had a much larger and longer parade, as well as some new activities and the most spectacular fireworks show that I’ve ever seen! (For Ruperts very FIRST fireworks display, they sure did a fantastic job!!)

I had a blast this year… We found photographs of Uncle Bob from 1978! hahaha

I was able to hang out with my cousins and their children – Mason and Riley!

…and of course the rest of the family! Dad and I had a blast seeing our Vermont family! Can’t wait to do it again soon! I love you guys!
