When Jackie & Andrew (friends I’ve known for 10 years) contacted me with a big secret that they needed some help sharing, I was ecstatic. We worked together for a couple weeks to gather ideas for a concept that was cute and funny, but very “them”. Jackie used to run a cooking blog that I loved following, so we were thinking about doing a “bun in the oven” themed session, but when the topic of video games and table top games (where are all my catan payers at?!) came about, we knew that’s what we had to go with!
I found an adorable plush game controller on etsy, and Jackie spotted an absolutely perfect shirt that reads, “Waiting for Player 3” to use. The whole session came together really well, at their home.
We kept things light-hearted even though they were playing a serious game of Super Smash Bro’s!
Watching them play Super NES brought back the best childhood memories. This was a really fun session!

These two are going to make amazing parents! I can’t wait for this next chapter in their lives.
After the video game portion of their session, we transitioned into table top games – specifically The Game of Life, and then their favorite… Catan!
The Game of Life was epically appropriate. I’m so glad they got it for this session!
I mean come on – look at that “Family of the Year award! and the “baby” spot on the board?! Perfection.
Finally, we played Catan, a game I’ve been told countless times I need to learn how to play. I think I’ve finally found my motivation!
There were lots of joyous comments after the official announcement was made on social media. I’m so glad I was able to be a part of this chapter of their lives. Can’t wait to meet Player #3 in January! <3
