first birthday portrait using O N E letters

A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing this dapper little mans 1st birthday portraits followed by a Daniel Tiger themed cake smash.

This was the second time I had seen him since his newborn session, but the first time I saw him with a mohawk and I almost died of cuteness overload!

I always love photographing this sweet family and watching their kids grow up into the smart, curious, adorable little people they are. Through family parties, maternity sessions, newborn and family portraits, I’ve had the chance to get to know them so well and love them dearly. When we were planning this session, they told me they wanted a gray, neutral theme, and picked out the most adorable outfit for his first portraits. The blue button down and suspenders are just way too cute! And I love the way his plaid shirt matches his sisters dress, which you’ll see in a bit!

Before the cake smash we had to get photos with his camera-loving older sister. These turned into the cutest sibling portraits ever! These two love each other so much – I can’t wait to see how their friendship evolves, knowing how their parents are each so incredibly close with their own siblings.

The second portion of his first birthday portrait session was the Daniel Tiger themed cake smash. This is his favorite show and was the theme of his birthday party! We used the banner for his birthday party to decorate the cake smash background and bring the whole theme together with his outfit. Surprisingly, he wasn’t too excited about touching the cake, but we still got some adorable photos! When he had enough, his older sister went to town and smashed it for him. Exactly what I would have done to my younger brothers at that age! It was so funny to watch her make a mess with it like she did at her own cake smash a few years ago!
